The Donna Walser Memorial Scholarship for Camp Northwest was established in loving memory of a camp enthusiast who was a faithful servant to her Lord Jesus and helpful to many others. Donna consistently demonstrated a heart of love for the Lord's work. Her ministry at Westside Baptist Church and Camp Northwest was a testament to her love of the young and old alike. Donna was a devoted servant each year in the kitchen at Camp Northwest and in the Ukraine during several mission trips. Donna faithfully finished her work here on earth and went to be with her Lord on February 23, 2010.
In honor of her memory and commitment to her church and Camp Northwest, a scholarship fund has been established in her name. The $150 Scholarship will be applied toward a camper's Senior Camp registration fee, subject to available funds and the scholarship committee's recommendation. Up to four campers will be chosen each summer for this scholarship.
In an effort to commemorate Donna's love for working in the kitchen and being a servant to her Lord and others, recipients must demonstrate a servant's heart by serving in the kitchen while at Junior Camp.
Recipients are also asked to write a letter to the Scholarship Committee about their camp experience. The Committee would also appreciate hearing from parents and pastors of the impact camp had on the recipient. You can mail the letter to 1375 Irving Road, Eugene, OR 97404.
